Schiebeler & Company has been established in Hamburg/Germany in 1922 as a trading company for the export of household and hardware items, agricultural supplies and machinery as well as the import of Jamaican Rum. The branch Schiebeler & Co. (Jamaica) Ltd. has been founded in 1928. In 1932 Schiebeler was the first foreign company to be appointed by the Spirits Pool of Jamaica as a Primary Buyer of Jamaica Rum. In 1959 Schiebeler was appointed as the agent for Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG in the northern part of the Caribbean with countries such as Bermuda, Bahamas and Jamaica. This marked the first step of Schiebeler into the printing industry and contributed to important changes for Schiebeler. Since then the export business of Schiebeler & Company concentrated more and more on the printing industry. Nowadays we are representing various major suppliers in this field besides Heidelberg printing presses such as Polar cutting machines and Hostmann-Steinberg inks. The imports are still dominated today by Jamaican Rum. Schiebeler & Co. (Trinidad) Ltd. was founded in April 1994 when Schiebeler got the representation of the Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG for Trinidad, Barbados and the Leeward and Windward Islands. So Schiebeler Trinidad is the youngest addition but it is also the fasted growing in the Schiebeler Group.
